Expedition Lodge
Nestled in the heart of the stunning Zandkreek, surrounded by pristine, uninhabited rainforest, lies a magnificent waterfall first discovered during a BBC filming expedition. Recognizing the incredible potential of this hidden gem, our resort built a new lodge at the riverfront, just a stone’s throw from the waterfall.
Named “The Expedition Lodge,” this new retreat is located just two and a half hours by boat from the Kabalebo airstrip and Main Lodge, or a short helicopter flight away. The lodge features three cozy double rooms, each with a private shower and toilet, and a spacious shared front balcony that offers sweeping views of the river and the breathtaking waterfall. A dedicated team of Kabalebo staff will accompany you throughout your stay, ensuring your comfort and assisting with any needs.
At The Expedition Lodge, we offer overnight packages with a variety of exciting excursions. These can range from nature trail walks and kayak trips through thrilling rapids to visits to the renowned Revelation Falls. The surrounding forest is rich with wildlife, making it an excellent destination for nature enthusiasts and avid anglers. It’s also the perfect spot for therapeutic relaxation. Once you’ve experienced the scenery here, you’ll agree that it’s truly captivating.
For those seeking an adventure, you can choose to return to the Main Lodge the exhilarating way—navigating through rapids in inflatable boats or kayaks for a thrilling 5 to 6-hour journey. Alternatively, if you prefer to unwind, a relaxing boat ride in a motorized dugout canoe will take you back to the Main Lodge with ease.
